World Children’s Day was celebrated last week, on 20 November. For us at TUBACEX, every day is Children’s Day: the programmes we support are long-term by design, aimed at creating real and lasting social impact. That commitment lives on through the work of the Tubacex Foundation, which partners with UNICEF to help bring water, sanitation and dignity to children in vulnerable communities.
Through the WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) program, we are currently working alongside UNICEF in Guyana and Suriname, supporting projects that are simple in form but powerful in impact.
In Guyana, we’re contributing to improved access to clean water and sanitation for more than 6,000 students, including the rehabilitation of a solar-powered water system that now serves nearly 300 children and 90 households in the village of Hururu.
In Suriname, our support is helping to expand safe and hygienic early education for around 1,200 young children, offering them a healthier and more hopeful start.
These are small steps, but meaningful ones. Through the Tubacex Foundation, we’re proud to walk alongside organisations like UNICEF and these communities, listening, supporting, and acting.
