What is DalecandELA?

DalecandELA is a non-profit association aimed at fighting against Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).

Founded in July 2019 by Jaime Lafita (diagnosed with ALS in 2016), this organization focuses on raising awareness of ALS, fundraising for research in the fight against this disease and providing support for people with ALS.

All this is done sharing with society principles that go beyond illness, such as effort, positive thinking, self-improvement or respect, among others.

Objectives

The Foundation supports of the challenges set by DalecandELA, i.e., crossing the "DEATH VALLEY" in California riding a tandem bike. This challenge refers to the phrase often used in research projects that fail to overcome the "VALLEY OF DEATH" or the phase when early funding for project development is obtained.

The challenge took place between April 9th and 16th, 2024 and covered 650 kilometers.

Scope of activity
The following areas were covered by the collaboration:
  • Our American subsidiaries supported the organization and contributed to the success of the challenge.
  • Support in spheres of influence that may contribute to generate an impact from the project on the administration and scientific community in the US.
